| Bollywood stars to celebrate V Day with pets NEW!
MUMBAI: Bollywood actors John Abraham, Dia Mirza, Isha Koppikar and Boman Irani will participate in a special gathering of pet lovers on 17 February 2007. The event, christened 'Walk of Dog owners' is being organised as a Valentine's celebration of the affection between pets and their owners, say the organisers. Says Anoopama Mukherji of Brand One, which has organised the show, "We will invite people from all walks of life to congregate and show their love, including celebrities and special pets and owners like the police dog squad, security dogs, assistance and medical help dogs. We will also use this platform to educate and urge pet owners to follow and abide by the civic sanitary bye laws." .

Proposed legislation that would change the state's dog breeding and boarding regulations have some local kennel managers and owners up in arms. At least one has written a letter to the state Department of Agriculture's bureau of dog law enforcement and sent copies to local legislators. Angela Barrett, president of Cobwebs Inc., which owns and runs The Pet Store on Lincoln Way East, says new regulations to control bad conditions in kennels are not necessary. "Hire more people and enforce the laws we have on the books now," she said. State legislators are looking at stricter rules for kennels to crack down on what are commonly called "puppy mills," which in laymen's terms are facilities were dogs are bred as often as physically possible and can be kept in too tight of confines without the proper care.

This is Boston. He is a male black lab mix. He is the first sponsored adoption since I have returned as Director. This guy was posted on petfinder, set to be euthanised, and a lady has graciously stepped up and said I want to save him. She is sponsoring his adoption and medical treatment. This means this guy has a reduced adoption fee. He is available and needing to get out ASAP. Please help this guy. We also have a chocolate male lab, needing a home, who is also being sponsored by a lady.His name is Lex. He is great with people but not so great with other dogs at this time.
