The popularity of The Sims franchise cannot be overstated. Even its expansion packs do quite well and The Sims 2 Pets is no exception. Rod Humble, VP of The Sims Division, gives us his "humble" opinion on why Sims fans love virtual animals just as much as virtual humans.

The Magic behind Magic Salt
(Undated) --- Many around the country are dealing with icy roads and sidewalks. But what if you had a product that would work like magic and give you ice control? There is a product that claims to do just that, and it has some unusual ingredients. Rum and vodka. Snow removal and maintenance. It's necessary and sometimes expensive but there's another side to using all this salt. "Two scientists were walking by their distillery and they noticed than in a distance a couple of lakes were frozen and their lake was not frozen. They trailed it back to their distillery and found that the by-products going into that lake kept it from freezing," said Mansour.
Controlling an irritating problem for people and pets
Humidity, moisture and heat put together are the perfect formula for flea development. At this time of year one adult flea can lay up to 500 eggs every week. So how do you get rid of the problem? Fleas need dogs and cats to lay eggs. There are many products to control fleas. Each works in a slightly different way so check with your vet as to the best product for your situation. The products I recommend are Advantage, Advocate, Advantix, Revolution, Frontline Spray, and Frontline Plus. These are all topical applications with residual activity for up to one month. If you are finding that your pet has a high number of fleas, there is a product called Capstar (administered in tablet form), which kills every flea on your pet in a very short time. You can give this every day, but generally if you give this once or twice a week you significantly reduce the number of fleas.
Governor, DEP chief absent from bear class
Forty-one people learned a lot about bears at the Schiff Nature Preserve in Mendham Township Tuesday night. Too bad the Governor, DEP Commissioner and her assistants and legislators weren't there to learn from the bear biologist who deals with bears almost daily. More than 300 informational bear sessions have been presented to more than 30,000 New Jerseyans, but still some otherwise intelligent people think non-lethal methods will control bear numbers. Cars were inadequate last year, killing only 85 on our roads, which I think could be a national record. Seven hundred cubs were born in January, they live 20-25 years, a high proportion are females, one male bear can impregnate numerous adult female bears that have an average of three cubs, houses and cars have been broken into, livestock and pets killed, crops and property ruined, people have had close calls, some attacked and the politicians want more bears to live happily ever after.
