Kids get the chance to meet stock show's special visitors

To the naked eye, it's hard to fathom where a hyena from Africa, a monkey from Japan and a giant snake native to Indonesia fit in at the San Antonio Stock Show & Rodeo.

The rodeo and livestock exhibition has ventured outside the world of customary farm animals to include exotic creatures from foreign lands. The new Wild World of Animals Show, a daily event, is a big hit among several new additions on the stock show grounds.

About 300 people, mostly children with parents or on school field trips, got a look Monday at some of the animals in Grant Kemmerer's traveling educational show based in Eighty Four, Pa., near Pittsburgh.
